Welcome to Dandy-Lion's
The Dandy-Lion Poodles are bred by Margareta and Kristina Sahlström and Sofia Nandrup
Margareta and Kristina’s interest in brown Standard Poodles started in 1964. However, their first Poodles, although titled, unfortunately didn't leave any offspring. Their first litter — silver Miniatures — was whelped in 1974. Their first Standard litter was born in 1978 and their first homebred champion was born in 1979.
Margareta was elected secretary of the Swedish Poodle Club in 1969. From there on, they have both had many assignments during the years, on regional and national levels and both on the board and off, e.g. they have both served as Presidents of the Club, also as

editors of the Club magazine. They have both received the Poodle Club's Award of Merit for their breeding and their engagement in the Club, and they have both been elected Honorary Members of the Club.
Kristina was one of the founders of the Poodle Club's obedience committe and came up with the idea of the annual Poodle Camp. In the early years (during the seventies and early eighties) Kristina competed in obedience, not without success. She has been, and still is, very active over the years at giving lectures on genetics, anatomy, and dog training.
Kristina is a judge for all Poodles and Basenjis since 1987 and has, apart from Sweden, judged in Norway, Finland, Iceland, Germany, Russia, Belarus, Latvia, Australia, and USA.
Over the years, many Dandy-Lion puppies have been born, among them 30 champions, of which 10 are browns and one apricot, and over 25 CAC winners of which 14 are browns. This makes Dandy-Lion’s Sweden's leading breeders of brown Standards. After Kristina was taken seriously ill in 2001, she found she could no longer cope with the Standards’ show coats and, more important, she could no longer handle them at shows. So, Margareta and Kristina have taken up Miniatures instead. Sofia, who joined the Dandy-Lion’s in 2003 as a co-owner, is in charge of the Standards.
Sofia was born with a Miniature in the house, and her

first Standard came along in 1987. Sofia started competing successfully in agility and obedience, and she also tried her hand at tracking. In connection with this, she became very active in her local dog club. Now she is engaged in the Poodle Club instead, and she is the administrator of the Poodle Camp. In 2000 she bought her first Dandy-Lion Standard who later became a champion. In 2003 she was offered a co-ownership in the kennel, and in 2004 she bred her first litter. She kept a bitch that was to become her very first homebred champion.
